Today I am very excited! We, like most of the country have been having such a severe drought. It’s been so hot this July it’s been hard to persuade myself to go outside and even water my garden.
To my delight I went outside today and managed to scrounge up some viddles for a salad. I am so hungry my mouth is watering.
Even with An organic garden you want to make sure that you wash your salad greens. Especially along the stems in the center of the leaf they like to collect dirt.
I like to tear up pieces instead of cutting most of the time. (mainly because I am lazy 🙂 )
Occasionally I will run a knife through if I want the greens to be smaller or more uniform. You can use the stems if you would like, it does make for a more bitter taste but they are really good for you.
Garlic croutons were put into a baggy and crushed as fine as you can get. (I used the peanut butter jar in the picture. just in case you were wondering why there was a peanut butter jar in the pic.) This is great when you need to get take some aggression out.
You will then add the crushed croutons, Parmesan cheese.
Add some thinly sliced tomatoes and drizzle some balsamic vinegar or any of your fave dressing.
