Are you Ready for my Random Friday Post?
As some of you know already we have been redecorating our house recently. We decided that we really needed some green in our living room. We were thinking an actual tree. The next question was weather to get a real tree or a silk tree.
I would love one like this… So gorgeous. The leaves are so big and shiny. The cats would love it too. They would probably try and climb it.
This one is super cool too with it being braided. AND It’s like a little ball-how did they do that?
My secret dream is to actually have an avocado tree living in our house. However the fact that it gets really cold here and we only have 8 ft. ceilings-(they can get up to 10-12 ft tall!!!!) I decided that it is a pipe dream. Oh well. Wouldn’t that be the coolest thing ever though. Mom, I’m hungry..Just go grab an avocado out of the living room. So awesome. You can see more about my son J and his avocado love here.
You might be surprised but I actually cast my ballet for silk. I pictured the cats perched inside the tree barely hanging the branches while eating at every leaf they could get their mouth on. There was some convincing with hubby, however all it really took was for me to show him the plants that they have already destroyed.
I just feel like putting a tree in our house that is alive is just mean and waste-full. The cats would have it destroyed within a month.
“Who me? I would never, hee hee hee…”
Yeah I know my cats better than that.
Another reason why instead of buying a big plant for our side table like we had planned-this little guy came to live with us instead. I hope they will leave it alone.
Thanks to Craig and His List we were able to find a 6 ft Ficus for $30. A super steal since you can’t find a quality one under $100 buckaroos. The bark on this thing really could fool you. Amazing how just a little greenery really changes how a room looks and feels. I’ll post a picture of the progress we have made in the living room later.
Have you picked up any new greens for your house lately? What kind of trees do you have living in your house? Has anyone found some great Craigs List finds? Tell me tell me I would love to know.
